Shropshire Spring / Easter HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) Programme 2024 - OPEN FOR BOOKINGS!

We are delighted to announce that bookings for the Shropshire Spring / Easter HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) Programme are now open.

Following a successful 2023 where thousands of eligible children and young people benefitted from HAF, the Department for Education funded programme is continuing in 2024.

Shropshire Council is working with local schools, voluntary and community organisations, and childcare providers to run an exciting holiday programme this spring, Shropshire HAF (Holiday Activities and Food).

During 25 March to 5 April 2024, eligible children and young people are invited to take part in a range of fun free activities, happening at over 40 holiday clubs from across the county.

There are free places available at HAF holiday clubs for:

Core Eligibility Criteria:

- Children and young people aged 4 (in reception class or equivalent) to 16, who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.

- Ukrainian guests staying in Shropshire

These children and young people will receive a winter code and information about how to book onto a holiday club direct from their school.

And

Wider Eligibility Criteria:

- Children and young people living in areas of high deprivation and/or from low-income households who are not in receipt of benefits related free school meals.

These children and young people can be referred onto the programme by a professional, by completing a referral form.

Paid Places

Many of the HAF programmes also include paid places for children and young people who don’t meet the eligibility criteria. These spaces are generally very heavily subsidised and have been highlighted in the What’s On Guide.
